The Ultimate Christmas Destination in Denver

Quality time is above all my most favorite thing and creating my family traditions daily and during the holiday season is so important to pass down to my kids.

This year marks our 5th year going to the Gaylord Rockies and we look forward to it every year!

Truly there is something for everyone at the Gaylord Rockies.

THE ROOM

We always stay in the 1 bedroom deluxe suite with 1 king bed. We stay for 2 nights typically and really the extra space is a non negotiable for us. We don’t co sleep. The kids sleep comfortably on the pull out sofa bed and we like to utilize the kitchen area for snacks and morning coffee.

THE ACTIVITIES

There is not one resort that houses so much Christmas truly than the Gaylord Rockies. This is an experience like no other and that is why we have made the Gaylord Rockies an annual family winter tradition.

2025 ICE featuring Dr. Seuss’ “How the Grinch Stole Christmas!

First and foremost ICE is incredible. It’s crafted from more than two million pounds off ice. The experience brings the story to life and this year’s theme was featuring Dr. Suess ‘How the Grinch Stole Christmas!

The Gaylord Rockies provides the iconic blue winter coats. They are dual purpose to keep you warm and to slide down the ice slides. Mistletoe Village

Mistletoe Village is like a mini holiday main street indoors. It makes the perfect setting for all, expecting moms, grandparents, kiddos and babies. We decorated ginger bread cookies and also indulged in Build-A-Bear. We travel so often and will always get a plushie for Eero from each location or event. This year at the Gaylord Rockies is particularly special because Eero made a Build-A-Bear for his baby sister.

SUGAR SNOW STATION

Sugar Snow Station is my favorite addition this year because I’m pregnant and will have a newborn December 2025 so very soon. True winter activities without the cold!

We enjoyed snow tubing on Candy Cane Mountain. The hill was faster than both boys anticipated. They were so happy and they went on repeat. No lift ticket required 🙂 We also loved the Gumdrop Gliders: Ice Puck Challenge. The game was like hockey meets mini golf except you want the highest score. We love hockey and obviously love golf so this was the perfect family activity for us.

The Arapahoe Springs Water Park is Eero’s favorite. There are so many activities at the pool alone. The water is warm and the boys will enjoy the water slides on repeat.

The Relâche Spa at Gaylord Rockies

Winter time is my favorite season for a massage. My muscles are tighter and this year being 9 months pregnant, it was very much needed. A massage is nice but a couples massage is probably one of my favorite activities to do with Michael. It feels intimate and special. While each massage is tailored to our specific needs, the experience is together and that is what we love. The Relâche Spa at Gaylord Rockies is one of our favorite spas. Everything from the front desk staff to the steam room, lounge area. The experience is the best.
