We get 18 delicious summers with our children. This is one of your 18. If that isn’t perspective I don’t know what is. Soaking up quality time with my boys is the most important thing to me and while summer appears to be a long period of time I find the days are technically longer but they go by quick and the months are short.
If you know me well you know I LOVE a good theme. Not just the big ones like Mother’s Day or Christmas. But I love all the themes in between like National Lipstick Day to National Best Friends Day. When I heard our favorite hotel had a summer programming of a Summer of MORE with Pirate and Princess themed activities naturally we had to book our stay. While kids are going back to school, the Summer of MORE at the Gaylord Rockies is going on now until September 6, 2021. If knowing this is one of your 18 summers isn’t enough here are 9 reasons to end your summer at the Gaylord Rockies.
1. The Arapahoe Springs pool

If you can’t go to the beach, bring it to the pool. The Arapahoe Springs pool at the Gaylord Rockies is our happy place. We love getting a poolside cabana for the day. Mom life brings A LOT to the pool and having a cabana with shade and room for all of the kids pool gear is the best. You get an attendant to serve you and we opted for a tub of Gatorade and light snacks from the Arapahoe Springs Bar & Grill. The boys love swimming in the pool. You’ll find Bladen on the water slides and my personal favorite is going around the lazy river.
2. Get your skin refreshed with a Signature HydraFacial from Relache Spa

I’m a Colorado native and though I love the climate, it also does a number on my skin. I like to head into the fall with a good facial. I decided to book their Signature HydraFacial and WOW was it amazing. If you have not got a HydraFacial before I could not rave about it more and look forward to book another treatment as soon as possible! It was a 50-minute skin resurfacing treatment that immediately reduces the look of lines, wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, congested pores and uneven skin tone on the face. The session was completed with LED light therapy suited for my skin’s specific needs. My skin has not felt this good in a long time. Just getting my pores decongested is so refreshing. The spa itself is beautiful.

3. Pirates and Princess Art Studio
I love hands on activities that are fun for both adults and kids. Painting on canvas covers that. We visited the Pirate and Princess Art Studio and had the best time. It is like a mini canvas and cocktails if you have been to one of those. The boys love painting and having it be pirate themed made it so super fun. You had a choice to pick a pre-drawn pirate ship or castle. We painted and left them to dry and could pick them up a few hours later.

4. S’mores by the campfire
After dinner we went outside to roast some marshmallows and make s’mores! They have pre-packaged kits with a wet wipe and all along side picnic tables set up to make s’mores. I love roasting marshmallows but am not one to actually camp so this is perfect for us! Bladen makes the s’mores and Eero eats the marshmallow first then the chocolate and graham crackers!

5. The Food
We all are big foodies. What can I say? We love good food and we love to eat! Before kids I was a flight attendant and filmmaker. I have traveled domestically and extensively internationally and have dined all over the world. The dining at the Gaylord Rockies is some of the best food out there. Both boys love dining here.
6. The Shiny Stash Scavenger Hunt
If you tell my boys they will find treasure they will search with passion and drive until it is uncovered. This themed scavenger hunt around the hotel was so fun! There was little clues and they had to find the correct gem color on their maps to be able to get the prize! Bladen led the way and Eero followed squealing with excitement as they went on their journey to the treasure.

7. Build A Bear
We have done Build A Bear before a handful of times but there is something quite special on WHERE you build your bear. Eero loves plushies and picked out his Gaylord Bear. Watching the magic as he helped “build” his bear was so special. The fact that we got the bear at the Gaylord Rockies during summer time has built sweet memories and love that we were able to do this here!
8. Animal Encounters
The boys LOVE animals and more so animal encounters where they are able to interact with the animals. On Saturday’s and Sundays from 10am-2pm you can go down to the lobby and learn about wildlife with Nature’s Educators.

9. The Consider It Done Team
The service at the Gaylord Rockies is really unparalleled. I cannot say enough good things about the staff. To me customer service really can make or break my experience no matter how good everything else is. The staff here is stellar ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ From pulling up to valet, checking in, the bellman bringing up your luggage and every member of the team is so nice and accommodating. On the phone in the room there is a button which is a 🙂 and it directs you to the Consider It Done Team. Literally any ask you have, they will take care of for you. As much of a packer and planner I am I forgot our hairbrush 😂. Called down and they had someone bring up one so fast.

We stayed in a Deluxe Suite. The room is gorgeous. I love that we have the room we need to relax, get ready, lounge, eat and enjoy.

The Summer of MORE is going on until September 6, 2021. We made the best family memories and are feeling so hopeful about what’s to come. You can book your stay and activities here.
I hope you all have the best end of summer! If you have any questions about the Gaylord Rockies you can reach out to me anytime! If you do see us out and about please come up and say hi! We love to meet you all in person! Thank you so much for following us along! We love you all!
